Handmade Fabric Applique Art
A one-of-a-kind textile artwork. Once sold, it cannot be recreated.
This piece commemorates the historic burning of opium at Humen Beach in 1839, led by Imperial Commissioner Lin Zexu. Rich layered fabrics evoke the billowing smoke and the determination of a nation.
This piece commemorates one of the most famous events in modern Chinese history: the destruction of confiscated British opium at Humen Beach in 1839, led by Imperial Commissioner Lin Zexu (林则徐). Over 1,000 tons of opium were publicly burned, marking China's firm stand against the opium trade.
Lin Zexu is remembered as a national hero — a symbol of integrity, courage, and resistance against foreign exploitation. This artwork carries that spirit of defiance and moral conviction.
This dramatic piece uses billowing layers of grey, white, and charcoal cotton to create the effect of rising smoke. The beach foreground is built from textured linen, while the commissioner's robes are rendered in deep indigo silk — the only vivid color in the scene, drawing the eye to Lin Zexu.
A powerful focal point for a study, reading room, or office. It sparks conversation about history, integrity, and resistance. Suitable for cultural institutions and history-minded collectors.
Because every fabric piece is selected, cut, and stitched by hand, the same artwork can never be recreated exactly. Small differences in fabric texture, color, and hand stitching make each piece unique.
